I have to wonder after reading multiple PKD works what exactly he was working through in his life. It seems like he had several problems and concerns he was working through. I’ll admit that he’s not my favorite author, but I was very intrigued by his works.

Valis Part II
This novel really intrigued me. I went through several emotions while
reading this, often not knowing exactly how PKD wanted me to react to what he
was saying. The idea of one character being multiple characters seems relevant
in several of his stories and it makes me wonder if he was questioning who he
really was - as if he had many different "masks" he wore.

I would have to agree with you, he was very intriguing on how he could just form the new world. He was a creative writer, however I am not sure why he would leave his VALIS book with so many questions. What was some of the emotions you were going through? My main on was frustration of not knowing what was going on or where the novel was going. I thought once they found Sophia everything was going to get better, than she died. I was so lost and I was left with this feeling of sadness at the end. did you?
ReplyDeleteI think the man had a brilliant mind. I can't agree that I was intrigued thought. I was lost. I muddled my way through, but really struggled with this one especially.
ReplyDeleteI am also curious about PKD's life and what he was thinking/going through when he wrote these novels. This book was so confusing! I definitely wouldn't read any of these books again.
